Recently, someone pointed out to me that I had not informed you of the danger of Identity Theft. I am supposing that you already know about this crime and that, when it happens, it can be very serious.

The great majority of the "Netsurfers" are normal and decent and don't want to hurt anyone. Even more don't even know HOW to commit a computer crime. Moreover, I think that kind of criminal would look for a site that had more useful information than this. But, like they say, "It rains on everyone, and lightning strikes some." Be careful, please. We don't want to repay affection and faith with trouble and grief.

Introduction

Hello, this is the first entry in the SalcidoBlog. The purpose of this blog is to provide a place where members of the family can meet, ask questions, find answers, and become acquainted or even re-acquainted. The Salcido Empire extends as far north as Vancouver and as far south as Guatemala City. As far east as Zaragoza, Spain, and as far west as Shenzhen, China. There are more than 500 of us, in at least 6 different countries. It would be useful to have a place where we can meet to talk. Some ground rules, I guess:

  1. The official website is located at: http://parentseyes.arizona.edu/pentland-salcido/index.html

  2. Entries may be made in English or Spanish.

  3. This branch of the Salcido family has been traced back to Sonora, 1814 when Santiago Salcido was born. He married Juana Villa. This probably took place in San Miguel de Horcasitas, Sonora. We are descended through their son Cayetano, and (mostly) through his son Manuel. Information about earlier ancestors or missing branches is gratefully accepted. Pictures are even more welcome.

  4. The most recent edition of the family tree, may be found at this site: http://parentseyes.arizona.edu/pentland-salcido/genealogy.html
